Black Friday 2010

Many Americans are gearing up for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. While thoughts of turkey, traffic and family gatherings may be on top of everyone's agenda, US retailers are getting ready for Black Friday.

Consumers across the nation can begin scouring this year's deals, by comparison shopping online. Black Friday circulars for the major US retailers have already been leaked, including Walmart, Target and Best Buy. The scanned version of the ads are online. While this may have caused much furor amongst retailers, this means that shoppers can plan ahead.

HDTVs, Blu-ray players, tablet devices, along with laptops and major household appliances will top the hot list for Black Friday 2010. Keep in mind that many retailers offer special web deals, with free shipping.

* Best Buy opens its doors at 5 a.m. on Black Friday. Some of its top deals include:
- Toshiba BDX1100 Blu-ray for $59.99
- Insignia 42" plasma HDTV NS-42P650A11 (720p) for $369.99
- Panasonic 46" plasma HDTV TC-P46C2 (720p) for $499.99
- Sony 46" Bravia LCD TV KDL-46EX400 for $689.99
- Nook electronic reader at $149.99
- Gift cards will also be sold at a discount, with $50 iTunes cards offered for $40.

* Target is focusing on its biggest shopping day of the year, by offering $3 deals on small appliances. In addition, shoppers who spend over $100 will receive a $10 gift card. The retailer will unleash its doorbusters at 4 a.m.
- 46" Apex HDTV (1080p) for $449
- 40" Westinghouse HDTV (1080p) for $298
- TomTom GPS systems starting at $99.99

* Walmart will open its doors at midnight, at their superstore locations. Some of the deals may have shoppers salivating. The world's largest retailer will have the following deals:
- 32" Emerson LCD HDTV (720 p) for $198
- Magnavox Blu-ray player for $69 (with $10 Vudu credit)
- Apple iPod Touch (8GB): available for $225, and a free $50 gift card
- Hewlett-Packard 15.6" laptops for $298

* Toys R' Us will also offer a deal on the iPod Touch, starting Nov. 25th at 10 pm to Nov. 26th at 1 pm.
- Apple iPod Touch (8GB) for $229, (32GB) for $299: Free $50 gift card with purchase

Last but not least, there are plenty of deals ahead of Black Friday. Pre-sales will take place online and in stores at retailers, in the run-up to November 26.
